Connected by tradition: Swiss special equipment manufacturer Aebi to be one of the major sponsors of the 2019 Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug

With the addition of Aebi, six major co-sponsors of the 2019 Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival in Zug have now been confirmed. The organisational committee headed by its president, Heinz Tännler, has thus secured the sixth major co-sponsor two years in advance of the event. The other major sponsors alongside Aebi, namely Zuger Kantonalbank, Mobiliar Insurance, household appliance manufacturer Zug AG (V-Zug), Feldschlösschen Getränke AG and Migros, have been already announced in the past few months.

The Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival is the largest recurring sporting event and one of the largest festivals in Switzerland. “This festival and Aebi perfectly fits together” says Barend Fruithof, CEO of Aebi Schmidt Holding AG. “Both in wrestling and in the manufacture of our products, the right technique and traction are the key factors for success”. But even more, the Swiss Federal Wrestling Association holds a long history as well as Aebi does. Therefore there are also historic values that connect the Swiss traditional company Aebi with the Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival.  We are very proud to support again this fantastic event and we will come up with a lot of ideas to make the stay of the visitors even more interesting, so Fruithof.

After taking place in Estavayer in 2016, the next ESAF will be held from 23 to 25 August 2019 in Zug. Some 300,000 visitors are expected and more than 50,000 excited fans will be attending the wrestling matches in the seven sawdust rings and the Steinstossen competitions (a Swiss variant of shot put) in a specially built, temporary arena, Switzerland’s largest stadium.
